The Hospital Authority runs 18 Chinese Medicine Clinics cum Training and Research Centres, one in each Hong Kong district, each a tripartite partnership between the Hospital Authority, a local university, and a non-governmental organisation. They offer government-subsidised out-patient Chinese Medicine consultation — a genuinely different thing from an unsubsidised private Chinese medicine practitioner.
Three services, each charged at HK$120 per visit since these clinics' subsidised scheme began on 2 March 2020: general Chinese Medicine consultation (with up to five doses of prescribed medication per visit), acupuncture, and bone-setting/tui-na treatment. The fee is waived entirely for recipients of Comprehensive Social Security Assistance and for Higher Old Age Living Allowance recipients aged 75 or above.
The annual quota across all 18 clinics was raised to 800,000 attendances from 1 October 2023 — a 30% increase on the year before. That quota is shared across general consultation, acupuncture and bone-setting/tui-na combined, so availability varies by clinic and by service.
No — these are 18 specific clinic locations offering a subsidised, HA-run service, not a directory of individual Chinese medicine practitioners in private practice. If you're looking for a specific practitioner rather than a subsidised clinic visit, that's a different question this page doesn't answer.
